Why You'll Love It
The Feel of the Place
Utah Copper Company built Copperton in 1926 as a "model city." It's the last surviving town of the Bingham Canyon mining district, and the original homes are on the National Register of Historic Places.
Builders rotated floor plans and varied exteriors so no two homes match, and used copper in plumbing, trim and some roofs. The company sold the homes to residents in the 1950s.
Life centers on shady Copperton Park, with Town Days each August, summer car shows and a Fourth of July breakfast. Copperton became a town in 2024 and is celebrating its centennial.
